AutoScout24 to WordPress: vehicle import checklist
Check vehicle data, images, prices and update behaviour before publishing your imported inventory.
Connecting AutoScout24 to WordPress is only one part of publishing a useful dealership catalogue. A small, controlled first import helps you check that the right vehicles, images and details reach your own website. Use this checklist together with the instructions supplied for your plugin release.
Start with a representative vehicle sample
Choose vehicles with different makes, fuel types and image sets. Include a listing with a long model name and one with optional equipment, if those records are available in your authorised source. Keep the initial review on a staging website until you are happy with the output.
Compare the imported fields with the source
- Confirm make, model, first registration, mileage and fuel type against AutoScout24.
- Check the displayed price, its currency and any tax wording supplied by your source.
- Review transmission, power and other specifications that are available in the imported record.
- Check that the main image and remaining photos belong to the same vehicle.
- Confirm the external identifier used to match that vehicle on later imports.
The available fields depend on the API, your market and the configured mapping. If a value is absent, first check whether the source record supplies it before treating it as an import issue.
Run a second import before going live
Repeat the import and verify that existing vehicles are updated rather than duplicated. Compare a changed source record with its WordPress record. Review the behaviour for withdrawn or unavailable vehicles with the developer; do not assume that every source and configuration handles availability in the same way.
Review the catalogue as a buyer
Try the filters with your own imported stock. Open vehicle details on a phone, check image cropping and confirm that your chosen enquiry route works. Your theme and filter integration influence the final presentation, so review the actual installed website as well as the sample demo.
Agree the update routine
Check the configured schedule, the WordPress scheduler and the result of a completed update. Hosting limits, API limits and expired credentials can affect a run. Record who will review failed imports and how your team will request support.
